Douglas Hall ladies retain their place at the top of the league with a hard fought 2-1 victory away to Lakewood tonight.
Lakewood took the lead 10 minutes into the game with a nice finish on the counter attack.
The lead did not last for too long and parity was restored on the 25th minute after a few nice passes in the middle of the park resulted in Maggie Duncliff playing a nice ball over the heads of the Lakewood central defenders to the on running Alison O Connell who finished smartly past the keeper.
The sides went in level at half time.In a game of few chances it took until the 62nd minute for Douglas Hall to take the lead. Again it was Alison O Connell who finished off the move following a through ball from Aoibhe Noonan which sent her through one on one with the goalkeeper.
Douglas hall defended the lead well and limited Lakewood to very few chances in the final 30mins.
Next up for Douglas Hall is Carrigaline in the league.
